Section D For tutors
Teach with Revision Sorted
Parents read our guides, then ask for a tutor. We introduce them to a qualified, checked tutor who knows their child's subject and exam board. If that could be you, apply below. It takes five minutes.
What do tutors get from the network?
Tutors in the network get introductions to parents who have already asked for help, with the year group, subject, exam board and the parent's worry written down before the first call. You set your own prices, choose how many students you take, and teach online, in person, or both.
- Warm enquiries, not cold leads. Parents have read a guide and asked for a call; nobody is chased.
- Matched on subject and board. An AQA Trilogy enquiry goes to a tutor who teaches AQA Trilogy.
- Your rates, your way. The network makes the introduction; the teaching is yours.
Who are we looking for?
The network wants qualified teachers and experienced subject specialists for GCSE and A-level, especially in sciences, maths, English, computer science and modern languages. Every tutor needs an enhanced DBS certificate, ideally on the Update Service, before any family is introduced.
What checks happen before an introduction?
Before any introduction, the network checks three things: your identity, your enhanced DBS certificate, and your qualifications. A parent cannot apply for a DBS check on a tutor's behalf, and gov.uk guidance since January 2026 says a self-employed tutor applies for their own enhanced check through an umbrella body. Qualified teachers can show their QTS through the Department for Education's teaching qualifications service.
How does joining work?
- Apply with the form on this page.
- A short call to talk through your subjects, availability, and how introductions and fees work.
- Identity, DBS and qualification checks.
- Your first introduction when a matching parent asks.

Quick questions
5 questions- Does it cost anything to apply?
- No. Applying is free, and how introductions and any fees work is explained on a short call before you decide to join.
- Do I need Qualified Teacher Status?
- Qualified teachers are preferred, especially for GCSE and A-level sciences and maths. Experienced subject specialists without QTS are considered, and every tutor needs an enhanced DBS certificate before any introduction.
- How do I get an enhanced DBS check as a self-employed tutor?
- Since January 2026, gov.uk guidance says a self-employed tutor applies for their own enhanced check through a DBS umbrella body. Joining the DBS Update Service lets parents and us check the certificate is still current.
- Do I set my own prices?
- Yes. You set your own rates and teach in your own way; the network introduces families whose child, subject and exam board match what you teach.
- Where do the parent enquiries come from?
- Revision Sorted publishes sourced guidance on GCSE and A-level revision, home education and choosing a tutor. Parents who want a tutor fill in a free-call form saying the year group, subject, exam board and what they are worried about.
